After months of planning and preparation, it's hard to believe, but in 9 hours we'll be on our way. Our first leg takes us only about 10 miles away.
The Bounder has had a recall from Ford for a faulty cruise control switch. Apparently this is the largest recall in Ford history, and because there have been some serious fires resulting from the problem, we thought we'd stop at the local Ford dealer before going too far.
Hopefully, after only a half hour or so, we'll be continuing on for about another 300 miles, staying for a couple of nights at F.D. Roosevelt State Park in Southern Georgia. Our friends, Faye & Glen, live nearby, and so we'll have the opportunity for a visit over dinner.
Then, on May 4, we'll pack up and head just 75 miles to Marietta, GA, where we'll be staying for a month. We can't go away for such a long time without a bit of quality time with our Grandson - Evan.
Once we've actually made some progress, we'll post again and let everyone know how this leg turned out.

Donna and Glen, I know exactly where FDR state park is since I've been there many times! Of course, having lived in Georgia for so long, I should know:)
Be sure you get your 2008 copy of The Milepost before heading to Alaska. It will be a lifesaver for you!
We had planned on Alaska again this year but decided to wait til next year. We'll be bounding too but in some different directions....as long as we can get diesel.
